Jan Rakinic, MD, FACS , SIU School of Medicine Professor of Surgery, has been named the president-elect for the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery (ABCRS.) “To earn this recognition from a number of my peers, whom I have a lot of respect for, is really humbling,” says Rakinic, who joined SIU in 2001. She is a fellowship-trained Reconstructive Urologist and is passionate about treating urethral and ureteral strictures, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, neurogenic bladder, and genital anomalies. SIU Urology welcomes Dr. Nicholas Tadros to the faculty. Dr. Tadros joins us most recently from the Cleveland Clinic, where he completed specialized training in reproductive medicine. Dr. Tadros earned his medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He then completed a general surgery and urology residency at Oregon Health and Science University as well. During that time, he also completed a research fellowship and received a master of clinical research.
