Housing Information Health Resources Life In Springfield, Illinois Student Activities Student Rep - Pharmacology & Neuroscience Graduate Program The Student Representative for the Pharmacology and Neuroscience graduate program acts the liaison between the graduate students and faculty. The student rep attends the Graduate Program Committee meetings, assists with new student recruitment, and is responsible for leading the Brain Awareness Day organization. Student Profile Sample

The results in this profile provide an overall assessment of all cases provided during the “Mock Page” exercise. The standards set for each case were initially determined by a panel of surgeons from five representative institutions and then refined through analysis of student performance from over 200 students from 12 institutions. The standards were set with the goal that a learner who passes a particular case would be allowed to assess the condition and initiate care with indirect supervision as an intern. This includes identification of specific clinical decision-making points for each case

Student Resource Fund

The Student Resource Fund (SRF) was established in 1997 by the SIU School of Medicine Alumni Society Board of Governors to enhance the student experience at SIU School of Medicine by funding educational and social needs that cannot be met through other fund sources. Examples of programs/projects that have been funded include: Group membership for Springfield-based students to the local YMCA Supporting the students’ Winter Ball Remodeling of the Springfield and Carbondale student lounges Purchasing anatomical models MKSAP books for Internal Medicine clerkships Suture supplies and skills clinic

Local Programs Boys and Girls Club – Administers programs for children and teens. Capital Township General Assistance - Provides transitional, emergency, and employment transportation assistance, etc. Fifth Street Renaissance - Provides services and shelter for homeless persons. They also administer the SSO/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) Program. Helping Hands of Springfield – Provides services and shelter for homeless persons. They also administer the Winter Warming Shelter. Illinois Housing Development Authority – Provides home ownership assistance Mercy Communities – Offers
