Pre Dental Program Features: • DAT exam preparation • Foundational science coursework • Dental clinical exposure and dental coursework • GPA enhancement Pre-dental students can participate in the traditional track or may be interested in our Master's degree option . Students in the pre-dental track take many classes with MEDPREP students in the pre-medical and pre-P.A. tracks but also focus on preparation specifically for the DAT and dental school. Pre-Employment Requirements

Prior to beginning training as a new resident or fellow at SIU School of Medicine there are several requirements that must be completed. Each of the items below are a condition of employment and are stated in each contract. The items below MUST be completed before a resident/fellow can start: Pre-Employment Screening by employing hospital Background check by employing hospital Employing hospital’s required computer-based learning (CBL) courses Completed employment application/documents for employing hospital Valid visa and/or work authorization documents for employing hospital Valid Illinois

Pre-Medical Program

The Traditional Track MEDPREP Program is a two-year course of study designed to provide maximum focus on academic skill development and foundational knowledge in the sciences. This is our most popular program of study, for students preparing for medical or dental school (students interested in dentistry: please also visit our pre-dental page ). Typically, about two-thirds of MEDPREP students in each class are in the traditional track. Pre-Physician Assistant Program

The MEDPREP pre-PA program provides opportunities for: • Foundational science coursework • GPA enhancement • PA program preparatory activities with PA program faculty Pre-PA students participate in the traditional certificate program and complete a preparatory curriculum of basic science, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. Students in the pre-PA track take classes with MEDPREP students in the pre-medical and pre-dental tracks, but also focus on preparation specifically for the GRE and PA school.
