Resident Duties

General During the course of the urology residency program, the individual resident will have a variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to, patient care, preparation for conferences, teaching, and research. Each responsibility will be shared with other individuals including fellow residents, urology faculty, attending physicians and surgeons from other services. I. Scope This standard was developed for SIU Medicine. SIU Medicine collectively applies to the SIU School of Medicine (SIU SOM), including the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), and SIU HealthCare (SIU HC). Many social events are organized through the program.These events facilitate a sense of comradery and community with our residents, faculty, and staff. Resident Physician Program Coming to SIU Alton Family Medicine

July 7, 2020, ALTON, IL ─ The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Department of Family and Community Medicine has added a new residency program to begin serving patients within SIU Alton Family Medicine next summer. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education approved the program in May. Research experience with dedicated time in the lab is an integral part of our training program. There are multiple on-going projects that residents can get involved with, from basic science projects to clinical science projects to quality improvement. Residents also have the opportunity to design and complete new projects if they wish. Resident Resource Fund Award Process Guidelines

Applicants Any resident or fellow (Springfield and affiliate programs) can apply for a Resident Resource Fund (RRF) Award (hereinafter referred to as Award). The applicant must have a minimum of 6 months training remaining at the time they apply. Applicants can only receive one award per academic year for all categories (i.e. multiple requests under different categories will not be accepted).
